How to write objectives • Audience: who? Who is the objective aimed at? • Behavior: what? What do you expect them to be able to do? • Condition: How? Under what circumstances will the learning occur? • Degree: How much? What is the specific set of criteria to be met?
Identifying pedagogical goals and Objectives • Objectives should be clear to you before you design activities for the lesson. • Planning an assessment begins with identifying skills and understanding to make up the goals. • 3 Stages to plan goals: Stage 1: what are the desired results? Stage 2: How will you verify the results? Stage 3: How will you design the learning experience?
Keep in mind… • Goals tend to be more general, pedagogical goals describe what the student will be capable of doing after the lesson! • Objectives are specific and they contribute to overall goals!
