What Is Your Will? With free will and choice comes power What we must determine for ourselves is how we will use that power Will we use it for good in this life? Will we use it for bad in this life?
What Is Your Will? Each one of us will make up our minds and decide who we will be What it all boils down to is what our will for this life is Do we will to live a life that submits to God’s will? David was a man who willed to do right
What Is Your Will? • 1. I will singpraises (v. 1) • David had declared that he would sing praises to the Lord • When someone thinks about the wonderful works of God, they can’t help but want to sing • “Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms” (Js. 5:13)
What Is Your Will? • 1. I will sing praises (v. 1) • David was a worshipper of God • One of the most important things we can do for our God is to worship Him (Jn. 4:23-24) • David wasn’t just going through the motions; it meant something to him
What Is Your Will? • 1. I will sing praises (v. 1) • Through this we show our love and appreciation to our God • We can also let others know about this God that we serve (Col. 3:16) • Will you open your lips to sing praises to your God?
What Is Your Will? • 2. I will behavewisely (v. 2) • What a challenge for us today in the world that we live in! • Some say that David wrote this Psalm when He became king • It’s obvious that David understood the responsibility he had to behave wisely
What Is Your Will? • 2. I will behave wisely (v. 2) • We obviously have the responsibility towards our God to behave wisely • We also have a responsibility towards others to set the right example in how we behave • Be wise in what is good – Rom. 16:19

I will behave wisely (v. 2) • As a leader and example before others, we need to behave wisely (Matt. 5:16; Col. 4:5) • As parents, we need wisdom to teach, correct and nurture our children (Eph. 6:4) • As a spouse we need wisdom to love, honor, and respect our spouse (Eph. 5:33)
What Is Your Will? • 3. I will set nothing wicked before my eyes (v. 3-4) • That word wicked means worthless • How many times can we honestly say we have watched things that were worthless? • Do we look at things on television and on the internet that simple make us no better?

What Is Your Will? • 5. I will bless the faithful (v. 6) • It is important for us to speak out against wrong • What may be overlooked as important at times is standing by those who choose to do right • We need to encourage those who are faithful to the Lord
What Is Your Will? • 5. I will bless the faithful (v. 6) • Paul praised those who were faithful – Phil. 2:20, 29-30 • David teaches us that those who are faithful will dwell with the King and serve Him (Matt. 25:34-40) • Will you stand with those who stand with God?
