Students must receive nomination by their Dean, Assistant Dean, or Academic Program Director

6. PMF 2011: Important Dates Application for the PMF Class of 2011 opens via a vacancy announcement on USAJOBS opens October 1
Deadline for application is October 15
Nominations must be submitted by nominating official to PMF between October 15-31
Mid November 2010Applicants officially notified of eligibility and nomination status Nominees notified of assessment date/time/location
Mid-December 2010
Nominees notified of semi-finalist status via email
January/February 2011Assessments conducted nationwide for the semi-finalists
Late February/Early March 2011Nominees notified of finalist status
Mid-March/Early April 2011PMF Class of 2011 Finalists invited to Job Fair, Finalists contact recruiters, Agency visits (Washington, DC, metro area)
7. Application process Graduate students submit online application via USAJOBS– “Applicant” or via a link on PMF website
Nominating Officials nominate applicants based on competitive nomination process – “Nominee”
OPM invites Nominees to an online, un-proctored assessment – based on score, selected Nominees become “Semi-Finalists”
Semi-Finalists are invited to an in-person assessment center (similar to previous assessment process) – based on score, selected Semi-Finalists become “Finalists”
Finalists secure positions with a Federal Agency – upon appointment, status changes to “Fellow”

You may apply through your school or through CURF (Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships) http://www.upenn.edu/curf/

Review, review, review
Submit application on-line at www.pmf.opm.gov by 10/15 midnight deadline
Print out copy of your submission verification
Print nomination form and provide to your nominating official
9. Nomination process Submission of nominations must be done via fax and only one submission at a time (schools should keep copies of fax transmittals for verification)
Schools are unable to verify fax submissions
Applicants can check the status after a few business days via their Application Manager account
The deadline for submitting nominations is 11:59:59 p.m. (Eastern Time), Sunday, October 31, 2010
Nomination Officials sign and fax the PMF Nomination Form only for students the school wishes to nominate
