  4. Classroom Expectations • TEACCH classroom management system • Daily Schedules / Inclusion minutes • Grade level Room Moms – class parties • Target Binders

  5. Hawk Basic Schedule • 7:35 Students may enter classrooms • 7:50 Tardy Bell Rings • Lunch time vary (Eating w/ your child – check Whoooo’s Where board) • Special Areas times – also posted • 2:50 Dismissal

  6. Fostering Independence • Morning Drop off • Backpacks • Clothing: Easy on / easy off, shoes, OOOPS! (keep a change of clothes either in backpack or cubby)

  9. Homework • We use manipulatives, learning through play, and hands on activities. • Homework may be given to practice skills (as needed) that are not yet mastered. • Recommended reading (or reading to your child for 20 minutes)

  10. Progress Reports • Grade level Report Cards - in addition to the 6 Week Progress Reports (IEPs). • Teachers and students will be keeping track of their progress in their own Learning Target Folders. • Below 70% Mastery does not mean failing!

  12. Absences • Notes are required by the state • Emails to me are helpful

  13. Grade Level T-shirts • Field trips, Field day • Forms have already gone home

  14. How can YOU help your child? • Check your child’s backpack every night • Establish a firm bedtime and turn off the TV 30 min prior • Foster independence • Have your child write something daily (grocery list, name, lines, tracing) • READ EVERY NIGHT!!!
