Athens, Sparta, and the Wars • Before we begin to learn about these two city-states and the Wars that affected them, it is important to look back at the geography and political difference of the two: • Sparta is located in the Peloponnesian Peninsula between the mountains and the sea • Athens is located in central Greece, only four miles from the Aegean Sea • While Athens was developing through trade and democracy, Sparta was building a strong military city-state and an oligarchy

In order to properly complete the graphic organizer, you will need to carefully read the packet on your own and complete the graphic organizer as an early finisher activity • It is important to know the difference between the two city-states’: • Government • Economy • Education • Life of Women and Slaves • As you read you should make a chart to take notes like the following example in your notebook… (READ CAREFULLY!)
