Cambodian Country Flag Cambodia's flag is a representation of the countries symbols. The red and blue colored bands represent Cambodia's traditional colors, and the white temple (outlined in black) represents Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is the best-preserved, most famous Cambodian temple. Built in the 12th century, it still stands today.
General Geography Cambodia is located in South Eastern Asia. The capital of Cambodia is Phnom Penh, located in the bottom third of the country. The land is mostly flat, with mountainous land in the far right corner. The latitude/longitude coordinates of Phnom Penh are 11*33'N by 104*55'E.
Economy Cambodia is operated on a Market Economy, yet the Economy is still greatly improving. Market Economy is an economy that relies mainly on the market to drive the economy and determine prices The GDP per Capita is $2,300. It compares 185th to about 196 countries in the world.
Imports and exports Imported: petroleum products, gold, construction materials, machinery, motor vehicles, and pharmaceutical products. Exported: Clothing, timber, rubber, rice, fish, and footwear.
Government Cambodia's government is a multiparty democracy under a constitutional monarchy An elected monarch guided by a constitution Current Leader: Prime Minister Hun Sen Gained Independence from France on November 9th, 1953 Prime Minister Hun Sen
Currency The current main currency is U.S. dollars because their original currency is unstable Cambodian Riel is their original currency One USD is about 4000 KHR (Cambodian Riel) American Dollar Cambodian Riel
Climate The climate is decided by the monsoon annual cycle. Monsoons are heavy rain seasons created by air pressure changes of Asia. Cambodia's location near the equator affects the climate, as it is hot year-round there. The forests, grasslands, and drylands are true to Cambodia's climate type.
Religion The major religion in Cambodia is Buddhism This is where they believe in the god Buddha Cambodians celebrate Visaka Buja Day on April 28th because that is supposedly Buddha’s birthday
