Just the facts, Ma’am… Pennsylvania Facts: • 2565 municipalities • 30,000 municipal employees • 23 Metropolitan and Rural Planning Organizations (MPO/RPO) • Over 115,000 miles of roadway • Roughly 65% of which is maintained by locals • Roughly 6400 locally owned bridges of varying lengths and conditions

  3. Just the facts, Ma’am… Pennsylvania LTAP Facts: • Quarterly newsletters and tech sheets • 27 different classes ranging from Maintenance to Safety subjects • 200 training classes provided annually • 300 technical assistance calls or visits on average

  4. Who are our partners? Our government partners provide knowledge and funding to help us provide the most current and relevant information to our customers - the locals! • Pennsylvania Department of Transportation • Bureau of Planning & Research • Bureau of Municipal Services • Bureau of Maintenance and Operations - Highway Safety & Traffic Operations Division • Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development • Federal Highway Administration

Public Partnership Perks While many of our public partnerships are based on funding needs, the information and assistance is valuable beyond measure. • Proven technology and techniques • NHTSA Grant Funding for safety programs • Memorandum of Understanding • Roadmasters Roundtable • Peer to peer exchanges • Courses outside LTAP curriculum Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil – Integrated Bridge System (GRS-IBS) Warm Mix Asphalt Safety Edge

Our partnership with associations and other municipal representatives gives PA LTAP a line to locals. • Planning partners: MPO's & RPO's • PA State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) • PA State Association of Boroughs (PSAB) • American Public Works Association (APWA) – Pennsylvania Chapter

  7. Private Partnership Perks Partnerships with private groups not only give a direct line to the people but also provide valuable resources such as: • Conference space and training sessions • Class promotion and registration • Newsletters and magazine articles • Feedback from locals
