In short summary, the UN's mission statement is to succeed in creating a better future for the world preventing any future catastrophes similar to both World War I and II, and to promote social progress, and better standards of life. • To keep peace throughout the world • To develop friendly relations among nations • To help nations work together to improve the lives of poor people, to conquer hunger, disease and illiteracy, and to encourage respect for each other's rights and freedoms • To be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations to achieve these goals. The current Secretary-General of UN is Ban Ki-moon. • There are currently 192 members at the UN • The UN headquarters is located in New York City. • The four major organs of the UN is the, General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and social council, International court of Justice. One of the UN’s major organ, the general assembly is the UN’s “deliberative” organ, and in my words I think it means the General Assembly is where the UN has it’s ‘general’ discussions. • The general assembly current comprises of all 192 members of the United Nations. • Each country gets one vote. • The General Assembly discusses and makes decisions on the topic at hand. The UNDP stands for the United Nations Development Program, they help fight poverty. • The UNDP helps people across the globe helping them get better access to resources and such. UNDP

United Nations International Children's Emergency FundUNICEF was created to ensure every child's freedom, and safety. • They help prevent diseases that harm children, provide protection, ensure child development and more. UNICEF
