How is this achieved? Through the 8 strands of PESSCL, the PSA (public service agreement) of giving each child at least 2 hours of high quality sport in and outside of the curriculum. The target is to increase this to 4 hours by 2010.
Sports Colleges validated by the YST, become vehicles for initiatives SSCO Driven by YST Professional Development Teacher coaching and programmes (INSET) esp in primary schools to improve introduction in schools Step into Sport Leadership programmes, funded by YST Swimming Extra swimming to make sure that all school children can swim at least 25m QCA Investigation YST investigates best practice and makes improvements where necessary Gifted and Talented multi skills clubs; talent ladder Club Links Community links with schools funded by YST
