Combining two short sentences • Short sentences: 1. Kelly’s necklace sparkles. 2. It is beaded. Think…both sentences are describing the necklace: Kelly’s beaded necklace sparkles.
Try it!... • Take these two short sentences: 1. The women always have to wait in a line. 2. The line is long. • Combine them… Think…both sentences talk about a line… The women always have to wait in a long line.
Combining two short sentences • Short sentences: I am going to a sleepover. I ‘m going tomorrow. • Combine the sentences: Think…Both sentences talk about the sleepover: Tomorrow I am going to a sleepover. or I’m going to a sleepover tomorrow.
Try it!... • Short Sentences: You are supposed to sit on the bus. You are supposed to sit quietly. • Combine the sentences: Think…both sentences are talking about how we act on the bus… You are supposed to sit quietly on the bus.
