Summary of Project • To get results we used a cluster sample technique to get data from random classes at SLCC asking them two questions, “How many hours do you study in the library weekly, and what is your current GPA?” • While gathering the data we all noticed that we encountered the difficulty of people being unresponsive to the GPA question. Also we had a smaller sample size so it was hard to confirm that the majority of SLCC students would have showed this data. • In conclusion our study shows there is no correlation between the amount of hours spent in the library and a students GPA. Emmoly Nguyen, Rachel Norris, Madison Peterson, Kylie Muir
Our Data -We removed/disqualified the N/A response from our final data because it was not a valid response to our question causing the hours spent in the library (variable 1) to be incorrect. Kylie Muir

Regression Statistics & Correlation Graph Regression Statistics R= 0.072235 Coefficients- Intercept- 3.297475 Hours in library per week- 0.019759 GPA=0.019758795 (hours) + 3.297475121 ^ GPA=0.019758795 (hours) + 3.297475121 Graph and Statistics –Madison Peterson
Results • Hours spend in the library- Many people gave us zero hours were spent in library studying. There were a few 1-4 hours and one respondent with 12 hours spent in library. • For Grade point, a few of our people in the data had to be eliminated. We had most our numbers in the GPA 2.4- 4.0. A few respondents were lower. Steven Neiswender
Final Conclusion made by all group members • Based off our data there is no correlation between the number or hours studying in the library and GPA. • Although we know there are many factors that can play a role in why there is no correlation. (Studying in other places, etc.) All group members contributed to this page.
