  1. World Meets World By:Mini Vines

  2. Dear Fellow Natives, I was on the hunt for food when I spotted these strangers and a couple of our people and the chief talking. I did not want to intervene so I stood by just incase anything should happen. The next thing I knew our chief and the others were being tied up and taken away. In other words I am trying to tell you our chief has been captured by these people. So if you see strange men in odd looking armor, please stay away. Some of these people look terribly sick and in need of medical attention. But don’t let that take you for a fool, the sickness they carry is very deadly and contagious. If you are to come into contact with them please be careful. Signed, Chava. Febuary 6th,1542

  3. Dear Diary, These “Spanish missionaries are starting to frustrate me. Seems like every year they’re forcing us to do something new.Last year they forced ys to practice their relgion. We were doing just fine before they came along. Why can’t we practice our religions in co-existance? They Feel as though just because they have finer things than we do we must obey them. These Spanish missionaries accused us of being possessed by the devil because some of us didn’t want to convert. Not only that but they whip those who refuse to convert. Somedays I just wish they would just go back where they came from. Signed, Kiche March 23rd,1630

  4. Dear King Louis KIV, These Natives are not so savage or strange as you have heard. I have spent time with these people and have actually gotten to know them. These Natives are actually quite peaceful, and friendly people. They don’t fight for power. But they do fight for the honor of the family that they have lost. These Natives have helped us survive out in the wilderness for months. If they were real savages they probably would have killed us and ate us but they didn’t. Without their help a great number of us would have been dead within a week. Sincerely, Emil December12th,1502

  5. Dear fellow Englishmen, After our previous attack by the Potawan Tribe I have come to this conclusion. I know some of you greatly wish to plan a counter attack upon these people. You have every right to be upset. But you must remember that the odds are against us. I believe it would not be wise to retaliate. We did lose a great number of our men. So for us to even try to attack them would be quite foolish because we are even more out numbered than we were before. It would also be quite hypocritical for us to attack them. We call them disrespectful savages. But we would be no better than them if we did to them what they did to us. I hope you understand. Sincerely, Jacob May 3rd,1709

  6. Dear King, This last week here with these strange people have been minorily difficult. These people have no idea that their violent, savage ways with send them to hell. They don’t understand that the religion they practice is wrong. But on the bright side some of these people have seen the era of their ways and decided to convert. As for the others what shall we do with them? Should we start cutting off limbs since whipping them doesn’t seem to be working? My King, I don’t know how much longer I can stay here. These non-converters have called us lunatics and accused us of attempting to drive them all crazy. Tell me what we shall we do sire. Sincerely , Diego May 2nd1630

  7. My name is Mini and I’m 16. I currently live in Dorchester. I enjoy writing a lot in and outside of school. When I’m not writing or “being a student,” I’m eating or tweeting. I thought that most of this evidence supported an unhealthy relationship. I say this because most of the Europeans treated the Natives disrespectfully as if they weren’t even human. This investigation can teach us about judgemental mistakes. So looking back on these mistakes that the Europeans made we can learn not to judge people by their appearance or way of living. This is important because it can teach young people not to be judgementaltowards strangers. About The Author
