The Lobachevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod (UNN) • Established in 1916 • 40000 students and post-graduate students • 19 faculties and 5 scientific-research institutes • Over 70% of teaching staff have Ph.D or Doctor of Science degrees In 2009 UNN was awarded a prestigious category “National Research University” by the government of Russia.
The Lobachevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod (UNN) is • represented in the Executive Board of the Deans European Academic Network (DEAN) • a member of the European University Association (EUA) UNN has direct contract relations with more than 20 foreign educational and research centres.
UNN international relations There are about 400 international students from over 50 countries of the world. The Bachelor Programme “Information Technologies” is taught in English for international students. UNN takes an active part in Tempus programme of the European Commission. Since 1994 15 Tempus projects have been completed in UNN.

In the framework of Tempus projects UNN: • reformed University management structure, • developed and introduced new educational programmes and courses, • developed education quality management system, • introduced new teaching methods (student-oriented learning), • reformed system of retraining and raising of professional qualification etc.
Russian-Italian University (UNN and University of Calabria) This project provides training in the fields of economics, finance, computer technology and mechanics. In the framework of project: • Some educational programmes on Economics, Mathematics and Finance of UNN and University of Calabria were unified; • Special agreement on mutual recognition of these programmes was signed.
Russian-French programme of double degree (UNN and University Pierre Mendes France, Grenoble, France) • Using a distance learning technologies UNN students will be taking three complex courses of French Bachelor Programme: • Money and Finance; • World Economy; • Industry Economics. • Other subjects in the curriculum of the Bachelor Programme of University Pierre Mendes France will be transferred from educational programme studied by the students at UNN.
European Industrial Management Programme (UNN, University Pierre Mendes France, Aalto University).
European Industrial Management Programme The training consists of: • University lectures on Management • Acquaintance with business management in enterprises Translation in Russian is provided.
European Industrial Management Programme gives its participants the following opportunities: • to receive theoretical knowledge and practical information about conditions of industrial management in France and Finland; • to analyze and compare industrial management in Russia, France and Finland; • to estimate industrial management in French and Finnish enterprises; • to ask any questions on industrial management to enterprises’ managers.
