Enhancement Grant Submission • District submits EG request to enhancement@dese.mo.gov • Application(one per district/institution) • Statement of Need • Description of Planned Improvements • Description of Evaluation System • EG FV4
Enhancement Grant Submission • DESE will review and process requests • Grant notification emailed to District Contact designated on EG FV4 • Award letter • Excel File • EG FV2 1, Revision Request, Budget Detail Tabs • Funds allowed to be expended July 1st
Revision Request • All revision requests must be made on the Revision Request form emailed to District Contact • DESE will process the request and send notification to District Contact • New Revision Request Form • New EG FV2
Payment Request • Request for reimbursement submitted on most current EG FV2 sent to the District Contact • The most current EG FV2 will reflect all revisions • No invoices submitted with EG FV2 • Invoices need to be kept locally for at least three years • Desk audits: Percentage of districts/institutions notified in April
2014 Payment Schedule • EG FV2 can be submitted anytime during the grant year • Payment made on a quarterly basis:

Monitoring Desk Audit • Percentage of districts will receive a desk audit of enhancement grant invoices • Districts/institutions assigned to one of three cohorts • Percentage of districts within in the cohort will receive desk audits. • Audit notification and specific reporting instructions will be given to districts in April of the grant year

MSIP5 • College and Career Readiness *4 (CCR*4) • Advanced Placement (AP) • International Baccalaureate (IB) • Receive college credit through early college, dual enrollment or approved dual credit courses • Technical Skills Attainment (TSA) • Industry Recognized Credential (IRC)
MSIP5 • Unduplicated • AP, IB, Dual • APR looks at an average over multiple years • One certificate does not equal one point • Calculation used to determine if a district is exceeding, on target, or approaching the required percentage increase.

MSIP5 IRC • Definition-Industry Recognized Credential (IRC) • Certificate awarded to a student that has completed the required education/training and demonstrated accomplishment of the intended learning outcomes recognized by industry. This industry related certificate is renewable or stackable* through continuing education, apprenticeships, or on-the-job training/work experience. • *Stackable Credential: Part of a sequence of credentials that can be accumulated over time to build up an individual’s qualifications and help them to move along a career pathway or up a career ladder to different and potentially higher-paying jobs. MSIP5 Q & A • What if my program does not have an IRC? • Not all programs will have an IRC at the secondary level. • Look at dual credit or AP option if no IRC. • Should I drop my program because it does not have an IRC? • No. An IRC does not determine program’s worth or quality. • If you switch to a new program with an IRC it is not a guarantee student enrollment or interest. • Dropping a CTE program because it does not have an IRC could effect potential credit in CCR* 5-6 9 (postsecondary placement data).
