What is the SSYFL? • SSYFL = South Suburban Youth Football League • Rosemount • Eagan • Apple Valley • Eastview • Lakeville North • Lakeville South • Burnsville • 7thand 8th Grade Teams • No Middle School Programs • SSYFL Board Oversees league • Board made up of representatives from each community • Rotation of SSYFL Chairman among participating communities

SSYFL Program Overview • Balanced Teams playing “A” level football • Teams assembled based upon pre-season evaluation sessions • Goal is to achieve balanced and competitive teams • 7th Grade • 8th Grade • Smaller Teams (22-25 players) • More kids get opportunity to play • Compete against SSYFL teams • Teams from same community will not play each other until end of year playoffs • End of season Playoffs

  9. SSYFL Program Overview • Games • Weekday • Saturday • Practices • Practices are set by coaches • Practices held at RMS and RHS Fields • Adult Paid Officials • Rules • Running backs & Quarterbacks • 7th Grade: <150 Pounds • 8th Grade: No restriction

Equipment • Equipment Provided By Player • Shoes • Football Pants (Navy Color) • Available to purchase at equipment handout date for $25-$30 • Compression Shorts • Athletic Cup • Long Socks • T-Shirts to wear under shoulder pads • Equipment Provided By RAAA • Helmet • Shoulder Pads • Home & Away Jerseys • Practice Jersey • Mouthguard • Chin Strap

Register Early –Open now, Ends July 14th Equipment Handout/Time Trials – When: Sunday July 27, 2014 - Rosemount Middle School Cafeteria. 8th grade -          4:00 PM 7th grade -          5:00 PM Time Trials are immediately after equipment handout Evaluations/Combine: When: Monday, July 28, 2014 Helmets Only Rosemount High School Practice fields 7th grade             5:00 - 6:45 pm  8th grade             6:30 – 8:00 pm Practice – start Sunday, August 4, 2014 4-5 Per week Regular Season starts Sat Aug 23 7th – (last year) Wed or Thurs (Mostly) & Saturday Morning 8th – (last year) Tuesday & Saturday Morning Playoffs Begin Saturday September 27 (last year) Championship & 3rd Place – Sunday Oct 12 at TBD Hall Fame Event – September 26 Key Dates

Volunteering • Volunteer Details • Events – New updates for 2014 • Bingo • Program Handout at Varsity Home Football Games • Equipment Handout Volunteers • 1 Event per family – ~2 hour time commitment • Process • Head Coaches will have a sign-up sheet that needs to be filled out by parents at the first team meeting • Parents should be prepared to write down their respective volunteer event information • Reminders for Bingo events will be sent out. • Reminders for other events will come from Football Booster Volunteer coordinator
