8 MAN FRONT CONCEPT Installing 8 man front concepts. We will have a variety of different looks to get to an eight man front. We will drop SS outside TE, in the box, and outside the box to SE. Strengths: 1. Dominate the LOS (90%=win) with 8 to control 8 gaps. 2. Utilize our quickness / speed / aggressiveness up front. 3. Helps our pass rush because we can tee off and still control 1 gap. 4. LB’s can fast flow! Weaknesses: 1. You become vulnerable to play action and pass. 2. You must avoid breakout plays!
Installing Middle of the Field Safety Concepts 3 Deep 4 Under Zone STRENGTHS: 1. Good run support/fast support. 2. Good deep coverage; always have post help (Middle field defender). 3. Can run corners over to match up on skill and still play zone. 4. Can change undercoverage players by spinning down FS or SS. WEAKNESSES: 1. 4 verticals vs. 3 deep zones (Attack alleys between FS and Corner) 2. Corners with inside leverage must be aware of outs/comebacks. 3. Space 5 receivers in 4 underneath zones (Stretches 4 under). 4. Play action in middle of field (post-dig) becomes a high-low principle 5. Have a curl/flat defender on the LOS (Under).

Inside Linebacker Technique“Fast Call” - Concept Key system is the same as in all other defenses – through offensive line to angle of flow of fullback / nearback to flowside guard area. With “fast” call, play 1 gap responsibilities when ball goes to side of Sam LB. ISO to Sam = spill for Mike. Will LB can attack A gap! He can be aggressive! ISO Play to Sam
