What is the IRIS Project? IRIS Project (Integrated Resource Information Systems) The replacement of existing financial, human resource, student, and inventory computer-based management systems with an integrated software application that will enhance service and add functionality (ERP). A 4-6 year, 40 million dollar project that will touch every part of the University
What will IRIS replace? Applications in the following areas: Phase 1: Student Information System Financial Resources Systems Human Resources System Supply Chain Management Phase 2 Time and Attendance Document Management and Imaging Grants and Contracts System Development/Advancement System
Why does this need to be done and why now? • Technology environment is obsolete • Inability to maintain the current systems • Lack of capacity of the current systems • Difficulty in remaining compliant with regulations • Poor integration of systems • Business processes are out of date • Lack of access to information • Information is not available • Information is not easily accessible • Service is ineffective and inefficient

Project Preparation – Current initiatives • Completing Chart of Accounts Project • Creating and Training the Project Team • 55 functional and technical staff members • Selecting the Implementation Partner(s) • University will lead the installation with knowledge transfer from consultants • Reviewing Business Processes • Identifying Reports and Interfaces • Developing Change Management and Communication Plans and a Decision-Making Model • Renovating Space
