Shota Dance Shota (or Shote) is an Albanian dance very popular in Kosovo, and named after the Albanian heroine ShoteGalica. It involves quick steps along with a high tempo beat. The Shota is mainly danced by Albanians, but is well known in all of the Balkans. It is one of the most well known Albanian dance/songs, and is commonly played at weddings, folk festivals and other events.
Napoloni Napoloni is an Albanian dance performed mainly in mid Albania. This dance is mainly performed at weddings.
Pogonishte Pogonishteis a traditional dance from South Albania. It is danced in an open and mixed circle of people. The style is proud. Dancers bounce twice gently on every count.
Traditional Albanian clothing TraditionalAlbanian clothing includes more than 200 different kind of clothings in all Albania. Almost every region in Albania has its own traditional dress with women clothing being particularly colorful and rich in detail.
Albanian cuisine The cuisine of Albania is influenced by Turkish and Italian cuisines, as well as ancient Greek and Illyrian, ancient Roman and Byzantine cooking. Every region in Albania and Kosovo has its own unique dishes.Meat is used heavily in dishes in most of the country. Seafood specialties are also common in the coastal areas such asDurrës,Vlorë, Shkoder, Lezhe and Sarandë. The main meal of the Albanians is lunch, which usually consists of supper, the main dish of slowly cooked meat, and a salad of fresh vegetables, such as tomatoes,cucumbers, green peppers, and olives. The salad is dressed with olive oil, vinegar, and salt.
