Request for Proposals • Request for proposals advertised on July 17, 2006 • Proposals due back by August 22, 2006 • Depending on number of proposals committee to review and invite vendors for formal presentation, and rank proposals. weeks. • Goal to have services in-place for the 2006-2007 winter season.
Scope of Services • Weather Forecast • General characteristics of the weather event • Precipitation • Near surface wind gusts • Near surface air temperature • Near surface relative humidity
Scope of Services Cont. • Near surface dew points • Mesoscale phenomenon • Severe weather conditions • Pavement Temperature Forecasts
Meteorological Management Services Requirements • Specific forecasts for maintenance Service areas (80)-may combine if similar. • Concern level rating • Spring & Summer specific construction or Maintenance Projects • Defined microclimates on a route specific basis • Annual and quarterly meetings
Consultant Services • 24 hour personalized statewide meteorological support via telephone • Management telephone conferences when potential sever weather conditions are forecast.
Miscellaneous Provisions • E-mail forecasts twice daily • Web posted • Unscheduled updates when conditions change from original forecasts. • Statistical analysis for forecast verification rates. • Option of vendors to propose alternative or new technology from items identified in RFP.
