  3. Her Background • has a mom and a dad, Cheri and Tom. She also has 2 brothers, Noah and Timmy • went to public school until 7th grade, she started homeschool because she wanted to surf more • Bethany started to surf at 4 years old • started competing at 8 years old • reached her dream and became a pro surfer, in 2007

  4. Why Bethany is famous • Survived a shark attack • lost her arm • lost 60% of her blood

  5. Interesting facts • First thing Bethany said when she got in the hospital was “ when can I surf again?” • got sponsored by Rip Curl in 1999 • A month after the attack she got back in the water!
