Mike gets to work. He starts to build a bug from his imagination. How many legs do you count on the bug so far? That’s right! Mike’s bug has 3 legs so far.
Here are Jake, Alize and Melissa. They also want to build a bug. Can you count how many green balls are on Alize’s plate? That’s right! She has one green ball.
Jake has a plan to read about bugs first and then build a bug. How many books might Jake read? Look on the shelf. That’s right! He could read two books.
What is Mike doing now? It looks like he is using more supplies. How many bottles of glue is he using? That’s right! He’s using one. How many paper plates it he using? I count one. I wonder what his bug will look like?
Here is Mike’s imaginary bug. What an interesting bug! How many legs does it have? I count 10. How many antennae does it have? I count two; how bout you? How many eyes does it have? I count two.
Wow! Melissa is on a roll! It looks like she’s building a bug with a different body. How many white balls do you count on the body of the bug? Good job! I count 3 also. How many blue antennae do you see? Excellent! I see two blue antennae also.
Jake finished his bug too! This bug is neat-o! Look at the wings. How many do you count? I see two wings too! How many legs does it have? Nice counting! I see six legs, just like you do.
