  2. EARLY LIFE • Albrecht was born on 1471 in Nuremberg, Germany • He was the son of Albrecht Durer and Barbara Holfer. • He had a sibling named Hans Durer • He was a  German painter, engraver, printmaker, mathematician, and theorist from Nuremberg.

Facts on Durer • In 1468 Albrecht curer’s father married his own daughter, Barbara. • They had 18 children. • He was taught how to paint by some Italian masters. • At the age of 13 Albrecht already had made a self portrait so he was very skilled at a very young age • He is known as the German Leonardo

His art • This is a piece of work that is called The knight, death, and the devil. • It is a painting of a knight harassed by two entities • Its meaning is thought to be a part of two works of art, sanguine, melancholy, choleric and phlegmatic. • If this is true then its series is missing a piece,
