Issues • Sharp decline in coverage of children in primary (from 25 lakh in 2011-12 to 21 lakh in 2012-13 and to 19 lakh in 2013-14). • Low coverage of working days (149 days covered against approval of 166). • No presence of senior officials in National/Regional workshop • Health check-up is not done for 50% of the enrolled children. • Data entry is not completed for cooking cost and food grain utilization. • Funds towards use of LPG cylinders not utilized.
Good practices in Implementation • Release of funds in the beginning of the financial year. • e-transfer of funds . • State Govt. decided to assign 100% MDM work to SHGs in rural areas • State contribution in cooking cost (Rs. 0.58 more in primary) and honorarium to CCH(Rs. 200 per cook) is more than minimum mandatory state share. • External evaluation of the implementation of scheme- “Data Mation”. • 21 points instruction including important telephone and mobile number have been written on the wall of the school at a visible place for contact in case of any untoward incident. • Preparation of 30 minute documentary film for training of cook-cum-helpers.
