Zheng He’s Explorations • Zheng He is the most famous Chinese explorer. • He explored from 1405-1433 during the Ming Dynasty period prior to an extended period of Chinese isolation. • Use the map (link on next slide) provided by National Geographic to do your homework. • Homework assignment due on Wednesday, January 20

  3. Look at the map (check link) of Zheng He’s journeys. You can download a better map from this site. • The map shows you 7 destinations of the voyages. However, I would like for you to examine the places that Zheng He actually went. • Looking at the places that were actually visited, I would like for you to make a travelogue or journal describing the types of things that Zheng He and his men would have encountered in their visits. • You can use any resources/websites that you like for this activity, just make sure you site them. • http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/0507/feature2/map.html
