  4. What are some tips for speaking??? • Pronounce words clearly • Be careful not to mumble or go too fast • Keep it brief • Appropriate for audience

  5. Verbal Communication: Written Communication: Using WRITTEN words to send a message

  6. Written Communication EXAMPLES??? TIPS: • Email • Magazines • Books • Assignments • Texting • Letters • Newspapers/Magazines • Use proper grammar • Language appropriate (ex: texting vs. assignment) • Readable handwriting • Have someone proofread

What are some tips for Listening? • Focus all attention on speaker- don’t think about other things • Ask QUESTIONS if something is unclear • Don’t rudely interrupt the speaker • Repeat back what speaker said • Use FEEDBACK: • Feedback: response to let the speaker know you heard and understood the message • Smile, nod to let speaker know you are listening
