Task 8.2 – CAP Task 8.2 – CAPCompile database content of equipments and service providers in contact thermometry
Task 8.2 – CAP "To establish database content in terms of equipment and providers in Europe. This database will propose a tool for selecting sensors and equipment for calibration or testing. The software interface will be set up for easy searching by industrial needs. The task consists in determining the form and the content of this database with a view to compiling relevant testing resources, equipment and calibration devices." . describe the user interface allowing to get to the relevant information. compile existing data in a way to make the research and selection tool working in an efficient way. describe the logistics and maintenance rules on the database and the research and selection tool .
Task 8-2 Methodology The suggested methodology is iterative and follows the process of development of any new product: Phase 1: Marketing and technical specification Phase 2: Feasibility study – Prototype Phase 3: Development – database compilation Phase 4: Validation – Return on experimentation of the product The Marketing and technical specification is reviewed and modified in a constantly way until the feasibility study and the prototype validation.Any further modification is not wished.
Task 8-2 Timing • Phases Key-dates • Phase 1: Marketing and technical specification sept-03 • Phase 2: Feasibility study – Prototype to be determined • Phase 3: Development – database compilation to be determined • Phase 4: Validation – Return on experimentation • of the product to be determined
Task 8-2 Phase 1 Marketing and technical specification 1. Description of the user's need versus function 8.2. 2. Structure of the database 2.1 Structure 2.2 Arborescence 2.3 Applications html pages 2.4 Products html pages 2.5 Suppliers and providers html pages 3. Description de the research and selection tool to be implemented 3.1. How get a correct contact temperature measurement 3.2. How get a correct calibration of my contact temperature measurement 4. Logistics and maintenance rules of the research and selection tool 5. Logistics and maintenance rules of the database
Task 8-2 Phase 2 Feasibility study – Prototype 1. Feasability study 2. Required means 3. Database contents into the html pages
Task 8-2 Phase 1 Marketing and technical specification 1. Description of the user's need versus function 8.2. The users who are connecting on Evitherm will describe their specification in temperature contact measurement or calibration and will find out a product list appropriate to their needs, or will get a list of suppliers or providers able to answer them. The area of needs from the users is: . look for an equipment able to measure a contact temperature, consistent with the application of the user. The user may find also a list of companies, suppliers and providers able to answer his question. . look for an equipment able to calibrate a measurement of a contact temperature, consistent with the application of the user. The user may find also a list of companies, suppliers and providers able to answer his question.
Task 8-2 Phase 1 Marketing and technical specification 2. Structure of the database2.1 Structure The site is made with html pages accessible through the research and selection tool, following the criterias formulated by the user. However, these html pages are also accessible through an arborescence which is an easy way to get to the html page. The html pages are filled with relevant information: text, .pdf files, web-links with others pages of the Evitherm site, or web-links toward other external sites (in this case, opening of a new window). This last point is very important: we must link to the existing databases and sites of the same purpose, not rewrite the information.
Task 8-2 Phase 1 Marketing and technical specification 3. Description de the research and selection tool to be implemented3.1. How to get a correct contact temperature measurement The user questionable is described by the process and working conditions. The user interface must allow to set the questionable in the most complete way. After validation, a list of dedicated products or specialised suppliers is offered to the user. The user can modify the questionable list and ask for a new research. The research engine is looking on the key-words of all the html pages in order to select the nearest compared to the criteria. There is no hot-line on the site.
Task 8-2 Phase 1 Marketing and technical specification 3. Description de the research and selection tool to be implemented3.2. How to get a correct calibration of my contact temperature measurement The user questionable is caracterized by the nature and the purpose of the sensor whose he needs to checks the fidelity.
Task 8-2 Phase 1 Marketing and technical specification 4. Logistics and maintenance rules of theresearch and selection tool to be determined: . authorised levels creation/modification of the arborescence . authorised levels creation/modification of the research and selection tool . traçability of maintenance operations 5. Logistics and maintenance rules of the database to be determined: . authorised levels creation/modification of the html pages . levels of status of the html pages (archived; on-site; off-site; etc..). . traçability of maintenance operations
Task 8-2 PHASE 2 Feasibility study – Prototype 1. Feasability study The feasability will be set with a web-prototype made according to the marketing and technical specification. Very simple, with some html pages, this prototype includes the arborescence, the research and selection tool and the basics rules of maintenance and development. The purpose is to validate the marketing an technical specification. 2. Required means A resource for software development is requested in order to develop the web-prototype and write the html pages. 3. Database contents CAP will bring the material.
