FE Cards Installation 1/4 • Installation Team & Schedule • Roberto Campagnolo,Antoine Junique, Luciano Musa, Lennart Osterman, • Bjorn Halvor Straume (→Gunnar Lovhoiden) • 2 x 7-hours shifts per day, 6 days / week • Installation started on the 30th January (17 working days) • Status • 16 Sectors of A side are complete, 17th Sector almost complete (12 cards to be installed)  2043 FECs installed • the 18th sector (Sector #13) can only be installed on next Wednesday after the installation of the new I-bars on the A side

FE Cards Installation 4/4 During the installation, the FECs are tested individually (stand-alone) by means of a dedicated “mounting test tool”, U2F (USB to FEC interface) • Readout of trigger related data (pulser) • Connection to the pad plane • Measurement of VCCA, VCCD, IA, ID and T • Test of all CSRs, Control & Readout path U2F Card

Installation and Commissioning Schedule 1/2 • FECs Mass test • completed inJanuary ‘06 • RCU Production (240 units including 10% spares) • completed in November ‘05 • RCU Mass Test • completed inDecember ’05 • Delivery of tested DCS cards: January ‘06 • Delivery of tested SIU cards: April ‘06 • Assembly and final test of RCU + SIU + DCS: May ‘06

Installation and Commissioning Schedule 2/2 PHASE I • Installation of FECs and Backplanes Jan ’05 - Mar ’06 • functional and electrical test of each FEC • test of the connection between FECs and pad plane • test of the connection between FECs and readout backplane PHASE II • Inspection of the system with RCUs Mar – Sep ’06 • Inspection of up to 12 readout partitions (2 Sectors) concurrently • Comprehensive test: FEE, DAQ, DCS, TRIGGER, HLT, ECS (power bars and cooling required) PHASE III • Installation of RCUs May – Jun ’06 • thorough test of all (216) readout partitions
