Ektron Decommission Status • We are actively working to phase out the Ektron platform prior to being decommissioned • Current Status and timeline: • Unused Dev and Test environments removed • Traffic audit to help identify missed content/redirects completed • Remediation of missed pages and redirects taken as items were discovered • Access to Ektron production environment blocked on March 28th • Based on feedback, plan to proceed with final archive and decommission of Ektron by mid to late April
Siteimprove Updates • End-user documentation written and finalized • Coordination with Unit Web Coordinators on sites they oversee and ensuring their reports properly configured is underway • Workshops scheduled for the month of April • The training schedule and registration can be found at https://nau.edu/web/siteimprove-workshop-registration/ • Upcoming dates: 4/11, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30. Time: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Location: ITS Training Lab • Remote campus trainings coming soon! • If interested, contact WCM-Support@nau.edu
Training Updates • Documentation and training roadmap for Enterprise+ plugins is being finalized • Main WordPress training is being updated and repackaged to also include training for authors and contributors • Please ensure all site stewards and editors are trained to current standards • The training schedule at https://nau.edu/web/training/is the source for upcoming workshops and new training opportunities. • The days and times for each session vary from week to week • Online self-guided trainings available: https://nau.edu/its/learn/wordpress-editor • For those in colleges, please ensure that your Site Stewards and Owners relay any changes or service requests through the assigned University Marketing PM
Accessibility and Accessible forms • Please continue to review and revise mass migrated pages • This includes content updates, page consolidation, and remediation of old images and documents from Ektron sites • All forms and documents need to adhere to accessibility standards • The Usable Materials Center is a primary resource on accessible document types • Site Improve offers a variety of accessibility functions • License was expanded to allow scanning of all pdf files in Wordpress
Document Conversion • The procedure for document conversion is located on Web Website • Document Review • Email usable.materials@nau.edu – ready for conversion • Upload link from UMC • Accessibility review • Some items may need to be reworked • Illustrator is not good for accessibility • InDesign is more accessible • Roadmap creation • You post the accessible versions of your documents on your site
What’s coming in Q4 Quarter 4 (April 1 – June 30) high level deliverables currently include: • Academic workflow rollout with University Marketing • Directory enhancements and further integration with Faculty 180 • Site level moves for internal/external content split • Development of In.nau.edu interface • Rollout of new WordPress platforms • Revamp of “Web” policy
