In simplified language, • I can forward telephone calls • I can spell names / codes / addresses etc. • I can pass on information about time and numbers • I can manage simple telephoning actions such as identifying self • I can specifying the person I want to talk to • I can exchanging basic information and close a call

  3. Read the dialogue and make it polite (friendlier) Receptionist Caller 1. ABC Ltd. What do you want? 2. I want to speak to Ms Williams 3. Not there. Message 4. I‘m Ann Jones. Please call me 5.   7. Listen to the dialogue and answer the questions Who is calling? Who does she/he want to speak to? Does he/she get through? If not, why not? What will happen next?

  10. Language Note 1. To talk about your interests use like + ing. I like playing tennis. He like watching fooball on TV. 2. To talk about what you want to do & make invitations use would like to + verb I‘d like to (I would like) to go to the cinema. Would your colleague like to come with us to lunch?
