  8. Dwight Eisenhower • Little Rock – ensured the safety of the 9 black students at Central High School

  9. Rosa Parks • Refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery that sets off the Montgomery Bus Boycott • Secretary of the NAACP

  10. Orval Faubus • Governor of Arkansas • Posted National Guard at Central High in Little Rock to turn away the 9 black students
