Proposed General Wildlife Measures • Access • Do not construct permanent access roads within mountain goat winter ranges or within 500 metres adjacent to goat winter ranges. • Temporary access roads 500 metres from winter ranges or inside winter ranges will have access control measures in place that effectively block motor vehicle access by November 1 each year until industrial activity is complete • All roads within 500 m of winter ranges will remain un-plowed. • Temporary roads will be de-constructed for effective access control within two years or upon completion of industrial activity if earlier than two years. • (will work on definitions of industrial activity, deconstruction and permanent/temporary access roads, and green up before June 15)
Proposed General Wildlife Measures • Harvesting and silviculture • Industrial activities must not occur from November 1-July 15 within goat winter ranges or within 500 metres of winter ranges. • Helicopter access, heli-logging and blasting will not occur within 2000 m horizontal and 400 m vertical distance of mountain goat winter ranges. • Cut-blocks must not exceed 5 ha, or 200 meters in one dimension, and • Forest harvest is to reflect a minimum 3 pass system with a 80-year rotation in lodgepole pine leading forests, and a 120-year rotation in forests of other leading types OR • Forest harvesting will result in a green up height of 3.5 metres over a 3 pass rotation
