  2. The HCI Restaurant • This is a short description of our HCI project: • We have decided to create an interface for a restaurant. It allows the server to be able to seat customers, take food orders and provide a bill at the end of the meal. • We all worked on the concept together, but Alex coded the graphic interface and AJ set up the backend for the website.

  3. The HCI Restaurant • Eman suggested that we use the Metaphor based on the “Please wait to be seated” sign that you always see in restaurants. • .

  4. HCI Restaraunt • Pedro suggested that the Theme be Safari, where the dishes are named after safari animals and activities. • Quingyun provided some digital icons that represented food items

  5. The Interface • The interface is designed to have a waiter log in, and then to come to a screen showing tables and chairs. • The waiter can select a table and a table number to which the food order and bill are associated. • The waiter can also click on the chair interface around a table to enter in the number of guests at the table (on one bill), one guest per chair.

  6. The Interface • The interface is designed to produce a bill based on the table, guests and their meals. • To keep things simple, we decided that the restaurant is the kind that is soooo classy that it only serves a few dishes on the menu for dinner . . . Its that good. • Questions?
