Family of Rotary Events 2010 • August 22, 2010 – Backpack Give-A-Way for children in the community of St. Matthews Union Baptist Church, The Grove • August 28, 2010 – Backpack Give-A-Way Kids in the Community near Seashells Café Arundel Street. • September 2010 - Coastal Clean Up (Date, venue and time TBA) • October 30, 2010 - Project Lend-A-Hand – Venue TBA • November 6, 2010 – Creating ornaments for the Jesse Tree - Venue TBA • December 18, 2010 – Presentation of gifts at Hawaiian Luau. • April 30, 2011 – Easter Egg Hunt, BNT • May 14, 2011 – Project Lend-A-Hand with the Inner Wheel Club – Venue TBA • June 25, 2011 – Beach Picnic at Blackbeard’s Cay

  5. Club Training • Subject matter experts will be invited to present to the club. • Orientation sessions • Sponsor Training • Club Runner Training • Rotary Topics and Rotary Minutes

  6. Red Ribbon Removal • We have assigned Arnold Bain to track and help persons with red ribbons to remove their ribbons. • If you need a red ribbon removal tracking form you can any one of us on the Membership Committee. • Our objective is to help new members get rid of their red ribbons sooner.

  7. Sponsor Involvement • Sponsors will now be provided with special pins once you sponsor a new member. • Sponsors will be invited to assist with the red ribbon removal process.

  8. Recruitment – We need help! • Classification Survey • Interest Survey • Membership drives • Sponsor involvement • Update the new member interview and orientation process.

  9. Retention – We need help! • Club Interest Survey • Exit Interviews • Buddy System • Retention Assessment

  10. Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) • The RLI seeks to have Rotary Clubs in member districts identify those Rotarians who seem to have the POTENTIAL for future club leadership (not necessarily as club presidents) and provide those so identified with a quality education in Rotary knowledge and leadership skills for voluntary organizations. • Cost $95.00 • Nassau Session: October 2 & 3, 2010

  14. Disaster Relief and MUNS • Disaster Relief • Establish a Club Disaster relief and Operational Plan • MUNS • Represent RCNS in the planning and execution of the 2010/2011 MUNS program.

  15. Community Service Highlights • Community needs assessment • Partner with the Zonta Club • Dictionary project • Literacy program • Health fair • Project addressing water or sanitation • Environmental educational program – PSAs • Community Service project to benefit young people.

  16. Vocational Service • Sponsor and effective 4 Way Test Speech competition (Partner with Toastmasters) • Career’s day. • Ethic Award for High School Students. • Ethic Award to organizations or corporations. • Mentoring program for club members to speak about their vocations at Interact meetings. • Scholarship for college outside Bahamas (Kettering)

  17. International Service • Rotary Action group membership. • Participate in project outside our District/Fellowship. • Interacting with twin club(s) in the Caribbean Partnership. • Participate or sponsor hands-on project in Haiti. • Support World Community Service Project through donation.

  18. Interact Clubs GHS and LCIS • Invite Interact Club to a RCNS meeting. • Joint project with an Interact Club • Sponsor/participate in a RYLA Youth Camp/event • Involve Interact clubs in at least three RCNS events. • Sponsor a young person for Youth Exchange • Charter or revive a Rotary youth program. • Publicly recognize young persons demonstrating leadership qualities in community service.
