WALT and WILF WALT: Questions that focus on directing an actor WILF: Your ability to understand key moments in the play and explain to an actor how they are to be portrayed
The character of Eric • This style of question is very much designed to test your knowledge of the character • Start by mind mapping everything that you know that the character says and does
The character of Eric • Now take all those points and number them in the order that they happen (remove any that you feel are not important)
Structuring • You need to advice your actor on how he will play this character. • Start by giving an overall summary (not naming specific points) of how you feel the character of Eric should be played • Then you need to move through specific events in the play, directing the actor as to how you feel they should be played and why. This is NOT a list. You MUST use connectives to ensure that your writing runs smoothly.
