Dost Special Education and Rehabilitation Centre Founded in 2000 private, non governmental educational institution. Dost Education provides education to disabled children, youth and adults and their parents personal assistants of the disabled persons and to staff support, information and help to families, disabled adults and people in need.
Our institution has 300 disabled learners • Mental retardation • Cerebral palsy • Learning disorders: Reading disorder Mathematics disorder Disorder of written expression • Down syndrome
Pervasive developmental disorders: Autistic disorder Rett’s disorder Childhood disintegrative disorder Asperger’s disorder • Attention Deficit and Disruptive Behaviour disorders • Language and Communication disorders • Conduct disorder
Dost has about 40 staff Dost has many experts • special education teachers • social service experts • childhood development and educationexperts • psychologist • physiotherapist
Our main activities are • training disabled persons • group education in many areas • many types of training courses in the center • vocational education • family seminars about disabled people • psychological counseling for students and parents • parents support groups • workshops • socializing activities • projects on disadvantaged groups

New Skills For Special Trainers On Re-Integration Of Disabled People(2004) • Leonardo Da Vinci- Exchange project • 12 trainers (teachers) followed a training about disability education in Greece and Poland • Our teachers applied this information in our school
IT&C A Gateway to Future For Disabled People (2005-2007) • Socrates Grundtvig 2 project • The aim was to enchance ICT familiarity among disabled people • Project applied short-term courses for trainers and disabled people
Enhancing Employment Opportunities for Pupils with S.E.N (2005-2008) • Socrates Comenius 1.2 project • Cooperation with Hungary, England • We applied vocational courses for pupils with S.E.N
3L Net European Network of Life Long Learning Clubs (2006-2008) • Socrates-Gruntvig 1 programme, from Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) • We organized 4 LLL Clubs (2 for women, 2 for youth) from disadvantageus people. • We gave them courses about: new employment opportunities, basic daily life knowledge, self sufficiency consciousness, productive mentality, healthy social relations, social opportunities, IT courses.
