2. NATURE Nature refers to life in general. We’re the one responsible for taking care of our nature but we, humans like to think that planet Earth belongs to us. Natural disasters only remind us that we're really just along for the ride. These includes the flashfloods, landslides, earthquakes and tsunami.

3. FLASHFLOODS Flash floods are dangerously fast moving floods caused by a large amount of heavy rain. The reason we call it flash floods because it comes as a surprise, when the rain falls in an abnormally great rate. Thus, people don’t know about it and there’s not a high chance to survive.

4. Safety Tips for Flashfloods • Before • Keep a portable radio on at all times so that you can listen to emergency updates. • Climb to the highest place and wait for rescuers to find you. • Turn off all utilities and close the main gas valve. • After • Make sure your house is safe before entering. • Do not turn on your power until an electrician deems it safe. • Beware of sharp debris and slippery floors. • During • Do not go in flooded areas especially near electric wires.

5. LANDSLIDE Landslide usually strike without warning. The force of rocks, soil, or other debris moving down a slope can devastate anything in its path.

Safety Tips for Landslides • DURING • Take cover under a desk, table, or other piece of sturdy furniture. • If rocks and other debris are approaching, run for the nearest shelter • If escape is not possible, curl into a tight ball and protect your head. • AFTER • Stay away from the slide area.   • Check for injured and trapped persons near the slide area.  • Listen to a battery-operated radio or television for the latest emergency information. • Check for damaged utility lines.  • BEFORE • Get a ground assessment of your property. • Make evacuation plans • Develop an emergency communication plan

7. Earthquake An earthquake is a sudden movement of the earth's surface, caused by the release of energy that has been stored beneath the surface over a long time. It can occur anywhere in the world, especially at the boundaries where the plates meet.

Safety tips for Earthquake • After: • Clean up chemical spills as best as you can. • Be careful of falling objects and open doors carefully • Make sure the area you stay in is stable and safe, and evacuate if there is a danger. • Make sure the area you stay in is stable and safe, and evacuate if there is a danger. • During: • Take cover under a sturdy piece of furniture, such as a table or desk. • Stay away from windows. • Quickly stop the car and stay in the vehicle. • Once the earthquake has ended, avoid bridges and ramps that may be damaged. • Before: • Store fragile items and flammable objects in low, closed cabinets with latches. • Repair any deep cracks in ceilings and the foundation of the house.

9. Tsunami Somewhere along the vast ocean floor, a colossal plate of oceanic crust strains to dip under another. It hits a snag, and the pressure builds. Most tsunamis form in the Pacific because of the plates underground and that it's so close to what we call "The Ring of Fire".

10. Safety Tips for Tsunami • After: • Don't go into any buildings that are damaged very badly. • If it's safe, go home and see if you can recover anything from this tragic event. • During: • Stay out of debris path. • Be aware of the flow of water and the debris. • Don't freak out! Keep your mind in the right state. • Before: • Know the evacuation routes for city-state or country. • Listen to the radio or watch TV although Tsunamis are sudden and there is very little warning this just may give you the heads up. • First aid kit will be something good to have.
