  3. Mid-Point Crisis • Fear of Aging • Narrowing of Interests • Closed; Withdrawn from others • Fatigue and depression • Reactive; Responding to life • Rebellion against others setting our agenda • Security a high value

  4. Halftime–Strategic Thinking • Look forward to the future • Expanding Interests; a renaissance • Open and engaged with others • Filled with anticipation • Proactive; strategic about the future • Setting our agenda in presence of God • Security is a myth

  6. Beginning • When all the dust settles what is going to last? • Is there life after work? • Is there life after success? • What can I give my life to that will ignite me? • How much is enough? • What is my real purpose on earth?

  7. Investigating • What are my strengths? • How am I uniquely designed? • What are my interests, passions, core values? • Who can help me decide what I am prepared for? • How do I prepare myself and my family?

  13. Obstacles to Overcome • A focus on what is missing; lack of knowledge • Not taking responsibility • Listening to naysayers • Wrong mindset • Disappointment • Fear

  14. Who, What, Why, When, Where, How? • What will be finished? • Who gets to participate? • Why me? • Where to I start? • When do I start the process? • How do I get there?

  15. What? • There is an element of risk • Joining God always requires elements of faith. • What is the biggest fear you face? • Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Jeremiah others had to believe that God would be with them.

  16. Who? • If you are going to walk on water … … you have to get out of the boat. • He works in us and through us … …for His good pleasure/purpose. Phil 2:13

  17. When? • Choose between a life of leisure or running with perseverance—engaged with God

  18. Where? • Open the door wide … … for the Lord to direct in the next life stage • Those that go down to the sea in ships … … see the wonders of the deep.

  19. Why? • Low risk, low reward • Reward expected to be a motivation • Lay up treasures in Heaven Jesus • Reward – • Gold, • Silver, • Precious stones, or … • Wood, Hay, Stubble?

  20. How? Focus on Margin • Time • Finances • Taking inventory of • Values • Passions • Skills

  21. Next Step To those that fear Him … Righteousness [the Lord] goes before him 
   and prepares a path for his steps. Ps 85:9a,13
