Realignment Process • Realignment procedures are included in the district’s Policies & Procedures Manual, Policy 5.7, Student Assignment • The realignment committee consists of representatives from the schools and communities potentially affected. • The process provides timelines and meeting dates for committee members.
Boundary Factors & Parameters • Capacity of each school facility • Natural boundaries - rivers, highways, railroads • Distance students travel to and from school • Socioeconomic composition of schools impacted by boundary changes. • All race neutral factors as they reflect the district-wide demographics.
Schedule of Meetings • April 6, 2010 – Organizational Meeting • April 7 to April 16 – Individual Committees • April 19, 2010 – Reconvene with Superintendent • April 26, 2010 – Board Workshop • April 27 to May 9 – Advertise to Public • May 10, 2010 –Public Hearing and Special Board Meeting
