  2. What makes a computer? • Tower • Monitor • Mouse • Keyboard Computer

  3. Computer Hardware -a physical device-something you can actually touch • Examples: • Mouse • Keyboard • Tower • Monitor • Printer

  4. Computer Software-instructions or programs inside your computer that allow you to work and play games • Examples • Starfall • Kidspiration • Internet • Type to Learn • Reading Counts

  9. Shut Down – turns off your tower #2 Press Down #1 Press Start Don’t forget to turn off your monitor!

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN • Go to your computer and log on • Double Click the software icon, Type to Learn 4 • Listen and follow the directions • Type what it says on the screen using the home, top, and bottom row and other keys needed that are on the keyboard • When time is up, log off and shut down the computer
