  3. Andrea Dei Mangabatti was nicknamed “Da Barberino” because he was born in BarberinoValdesa in 1370 and died in 1432. He was a jester who performed in the historic Florentine square of St. Martin the Bishop. He wrote a knighthood novel: “Il GuerrinMeschino”. The Author

  6. The travel around the world Guerrin was a knight who travelled around the world to find his parents without success. Consequently he decided to ask the helpof a female foreseer: the Sybil of the Apennines.

  7. The Sybil’s cave After several difficulties he arrived in front of the Sybil’s cave,which still exists and it is near Montemonacoin the Sibillini mountains. In front of the cave he found three girls who welcomedhim to come inside.

  8. The Sybil of the apennines When Guerrin came in front of the Sybil, first of all the prophetess listenedto the knight’s reasons of his visit. Then she started to seduce him in order to make him fall in love with her and commit sin. And shealsopromisedtohelphim and totellhimwherehisparentswere.

  9. The description of the Sybil The Sybilthat Guerrino meets in the cave is: dressed in veryadorned and richclothes, that show off hersoft and light skin. Sheusessweetwordsand a lotofcerimonialacts, togetherwithher fascinatingwords.

  11. The confession of sins The cavalier regretted being in the cave and after leaving that evil place, he went to Rome to ask for the Pope’s forgiveness for his sins. So the Pope forgave him and gave him some money and his blessing to go on withhis search.

  12. The meeting withhisparents Thanks to God’s Providence, Guerrin came back to Durazzo, to defend King Guiscard from the Saracens. In this occasion, he set two old prisoners free and he found out that they were King Milone and Queen Fenisia: his parents.
