Irrigation : LAO PDR : The Results Were Extraordinary... • Over 7000 Kirloskar Pump sets are working across the country along the river Mekong. • In 1996, Laos was importing rice extensively, but with the help of Kirloskar pump sets & irrigation systems rice production went up 25 times to about 2.2 Million tonnes in 2004. • Rice production in the dry season increased from 25,000 tonnes to 700,000 tonnes,due to Affordable, Adaptable and Appropriate Kirloskar Irrigation Systems.
