Warfare • In 1666, the French attacked the Mohawk, stealing food, and burning down homes. • They used bows and arrows, spears, and knives until the English came and traded guns. • During the French and Indian War, the Mohawk Valley was a prime strategic tool for the British and the Mohawk’s. • They surrounded the Great Lakes, threatening the French.
Warfare • The Mohawk’s blended in with the woods, with the paint that they put on their selves. • Also, the Mohawk’s were trained to run fast, but also run quietly. • Running quietly and fast allowed them to sneak up on the French and attack.
