  1. Advisor User Council Mark Bosserman 24 Sep, 6 Oct 2009

  2. New Features Survey • Features #8 & 9 ranked as most important • #8 – parallel air cleaners; work ongoing, will appear in Feb data update • #9 – belt drive analysis; timing of this change TBD • #6 & 19 next highest; status of #6 (turbo bending calculations) TBD, #19 (rounding errors in Exhaust tool) will be in Feb update

  3. Parasitics DFSS Requirements • In the Power Train Requirements section, replace the “Power Draw During Cranking” column with a column that has the heading: • Check if Machine Component is a Hydraulic Pump • Instead of having fields for each machine component in this column to enter power level, have boxes that can be checked (similar to the “Occurs Once Daily” field in the Duty Cycle screen). If any of these boxes checked, then Advisor will sum up the Maximum Power draw at Rated for each line, and multiply this sum by this formula to calculate the “Parasitic Load at 10 deg F [-12.2 deg C] & 750 RPM”: • Sum of components power draw at rated, times C;

  4. Parasitics DFSS Requirements, cont. • where C is a constant that is based on the viscosity factor and typical parasitic load for an unloaded hydraulic pump at 72 deg F. • If this resultant value exceeds PID 23301 (from FR datasheet, shown below), • then display this Severity Code 2 warning: • The parasitics load due to the hydraulic components exceeds the allowable load at 10 deg F [-12.2 deg C] and 750 RPM. See AEB 24.53 and verify parasitics load is accurate to ensure there are no cold-starting issues. • There won’t be a need for the warning shown below anymore, which resulted from the Power draw during cranking exceeding the engine displacement, in liters:
