Provo, Utah 2017 + • Center street block has 55 restaurants, locally-owned • Museums, shops, entertainment nearby • BYU MOA, Museum of Paleontology, Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur Museum, Museum of Peoples and Cultures, Hale Center Theater, Covey Center for the Arts • Wasatch Mountains frame Utah Valley, similar climate to Denver in fall • Sundance ski resort 20 minutes from downtown, has lodging, restaurants, ski lift rides, hiking, biking

Conclusion: Why Provo? • Central location, accessible, with local planetary people • Beautiful setting near mountains • New convention center is the right size for DPS • Cheap (presumably) – rooms in convention center Marriott going for $89 this week • Not the kind of location that would set off alarm bells at NASA HQ, and very low probability of showgirls at banquet.
