What do we offer our students before they go abroad • Foreign language training; • Intercultural knowledge about the • country to visit; • Preparing the exchange using etwinning; • Use of e- mail and video conferencing; • Financial: EU funding if possible; • Preparing the necessary paperwork.
Overall support • The board of Governers fully support international exchange; • Managers of the different departments make sure that international exchange is part of formal education i.e.: • International exchange is part of the curriculum; • Exchange and internships are possibilities for every student.
Funding • Exchange and internships within the EU with funding programmes from “Brussels” i.e. Leonardo da Vinci and Comenius subsidies; • Local government within the framework of twin-cities; • Provincional funding within the framework of friendship cities; • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs support students financially if students go to less developed countries; • Students own funding.
2007: a new department internationalisation is founded. • We are able to support teachers, students and parents to answer questions concerning international matters such as: • Financials; • Country knowledge (stability, security, cultural behaviour, local law); • Where to obtain health certificates, visas and working permits; • Monitoring students while abroad through e-mail and use of local assistance if possible; • Contacts with consulates and embassies.
Students tasks after the exchange or internships • Deliver evaluation and results on paper and digital presentations; • Dissemination: make sure a big group of students, teachers and/or parents and third parties get to know about the results of the exchange; • Inform possible sponsors as well.
Exchange with countries: • Russia,Dmitrov and Dubna. Bond of friendship with the province of Flevoland and different schools in Dmitrov and the University of Dubna. • Malawi. Mzuzu and Kasungu. 2 year programme to build schools. • Surinam. Building a Culture house and lodges with local indians to protect turtels. • Poland, Lesna: daycare programmes with childeren and building of a playground. Gdynia: school exchange international trade students. • Germany.Rendsburg and Annaberg: building and trade programmes. • Estonia and Finland. Exchange “Week of Learning”. • Internships in the USA, Ghana, Turkey, Poland, Surinam, Dutch Antilles, Brasil,Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Bosnië Switserland, Iceland, Belgium and the United Kingdom. • New projects 2008 with schools and organizations in Spain, Turkey, Poland, Russia, Czech Republic and Bosnië-Herzegovina.
