  2. Reminders & Updates • Polls open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM • Scanner use is PURELY OPTIONAL!!! (DO NOT ASK for ID) • Changes in Precinct Atlas • New Lime Green Form=Precinct Record of Ballots • IC06/ IC16 Mercer, IC23 Regina, IC24 St. Patricks, HS, OX • Addition to Precinct Record of Ballots (final EDR total) • Tally Lists (Make sure they are fully Completed) • Communication (Running out of forms & ballots) • Precinct Computer Laptops Bags have comp. setup in Master • Homeless (Need attester) • Pins and stickers • Clipboard • Opening & Closing Polls on M100 • New Checklists (Open & Closing/ Blue Transfer Case) • Claim forms, Tally List Book & Precinct Record of Ballots needs to be left Clipboard

Election Registers • Use the purple register to keep track of EDRs (Election Day Registrations • Yellow, red, and blue registers are only used when following Backup Procedures • Chairs DO NOT update the registers prior to election • No need to highlight voters in Yellow Register on Election Day unless computers fail.

  6. Chairperson Duties (p. 3) • Pick up election supplies • Today and Monday, November 4 at 6:30 p.m. • Review supplies • File the Precinct Record of Ballots after ballots are picked up on Monday • Contact other PEOs/ polling place custodian • PEOs bring own food/ Be courteous in schools • Ask that PEOs do not bring personal laptops/tablets without an internet connection ok • Voters come first • Review and understand manual • Call with additional questions

Opening the polling place(p. 4-8) • Turn on Cell Phones (one cell per precinct) • Put on PEO badges (no pictures) • Fill out 1st page of tally list • Assign Numbers & Tasks • Assign Bi-Partisan Team • Arrange the polling place (p. 5) • Set up Precinct Atlas computers • Set up voting booths • Post signs (p. 6-7) • Indoor & Outdoor

Victor Chair Polly Paul Harry Rueber Victor Chair Polly Paul Tally Book (p. 4) • Located in Tally Supplies folder. • Before the polls open, all PEOs must take their oaths and sign under the affidavit on page 2 of the Tally List Book. • Also record the names of the officials selected to assist voters with disabilities (known as the Bi-Partisan Team).   9. Open Green Ballot Transfer Case (p. 8) 02/05/2013 STEP ONE:Bi-partisan team verifies that the ballot transfer case seal is intact AND that the seal number on the insert card matches the seal. If correct, the Bi-Partisan Team Initials the Precinct Record of Ballots.

  10. STEP TWO:Break the seal, put the red seal in the Red Media Transfer Bag, open the Ballot Box and count the Regular Ballots to verify polling place received correct number. Note: Ballots are wrapped in packages of 50. You do not need to open each package now. You will verify each packet’s contents later. Open Green Ballot Transfer Case (p. 8) STEP THREE: Open the Provisional Ballot Envelope and count the Provisional Ballots to verify polling place received the correct number . If ballot counts differ, call 319-356-6004 immediately.

  11. Open Green Ballot Transfer Case (p. 8) STEP FOUR: Compare the regular and provisional ballots with the sample ballot(s) you received. If ballots differ, call 319-356-6004 immediately.

Locate and set-up the Autokart • The Autokartshould be positioned in the voting area so that the M100 and the AutoMARK are easily accessible. • Retrieve the M100 keys from the Ziploc bag in the small blue supply bag. • Three keys will be provided, the bipartisan team should confirm that the keys are there and initial the lines next to the “YES”. If keys are not provided, call the Auditor’s Office at 319-356-6004.

  13. Verify Equipment Seals • ->AutoMARK • Verify the two seals on the AutoMARK match the seals on the Precinct Record of Ballots. • If seals match, the bipartisan team should initial the lines next to the numbers. If seal numbers differ, call the Auditor’s Office at 319-356-6004.
