My objectives • Establish Product Management as a function • Ownership and maintenance of Concept Development Process • Produce coherent product portfolio for Janet • Which services to offer and how to present them • Develop product strategies • Shape direction of products based on market and customer requirements • Develop appropriate charging/funding models • Subsidised/self-sustaining services • Embed product lifecycle process • See next slide…

Why do we use this process? • Encourages innovation and provides a structure for staff to follow that is efficient and delivers swift decisions • Robustly challenged prior to the allocation of significant resources • Good decision making and good accountability •  Relevant to a wide range of developments: • New products and services • Business improvement processes where investment is required • Re-procurement, upgrade or enhancement of existing products and services
