Passenger / Express Cargo Comparison • Fed • 3.5 Million Packages per day (based on 7 day week) • 683 Aircraft Total • 1.45 billion gallons of fuel/yr • Passenger Airlines • Average of 175,000-200,000 customers per day • What does this mean? • FedEx serves 16X as many customers as passenger airlines daily • A cargo flight has approximately 10X more economic value to a community than a passenger flight ExExpress

Differences from Passenger Carriers • Time definite service usually comes with a money back guarantee, therefore delays, cancellations and diversions are intolerable, not an inconvenience • Airport capacity and efficiency are more critical • The large capital cost of hub sort facilities drive requirement • Unlike in the past, cargo operators have large daytime operations
