  1. Communication Journal- Communication types Which type of communication do you think is most effective *passive, *aggressive, *assertive? Why?

  2. Have your journals out, I will come and give you a grade.

  3. Turn to page 6 in your packets. • Today we will talk about 3 styles of communication. Passive, Aggressive, and Assertive. • Take notes on the following:

  4. Passive Communication • Blushes when someone looks there way • Agrees with everyone- “Yes, you’re right” and “I agree” are the only things they say • Takes blame for anything that happens • Makes others feel guilty by letting them walk all over him/her • Apologizes often in conversation

  5. Aggressive Communication • Tells others what they want and then talks them into it • Blows stack when anyone disagrees • Rams opinions down others throats • Very critical of others • Listens by interrupting • Must be in charge • Likes to run over people • Gets even with sarcasm

  6. Assertive Communication • Buys only what he/she needs from door-to-door salesman • States opinion matter of factly • Negotiates and makes compromises when necessary • Smiles frequently • Takes credit when credit is due • Does not need to win an argument • Can admit when wrong

No Bake Cookies • One person in your group will be responsible for reading the instructions. • They must give the instructions to the rest of the group. • No one else is to look at the instructions. • Make sure your unit is clean at the end. • Anyone who violates these rules will be given an alternative assignment from the book, due at the end of class. • Sit down at your table when you are done.
