  2. War beginning • The Iraq war (from March 20, 2003 to December 15, 2011) — the military conflict which has begun with invasion of forces of the USA and their allies to Iraq, for the purpose of overthrow of a mode of Saddam Hussein.

  3. 2006: Civil war • Coming to power in Iraq Shiite political forces considerably fueled tension between the Iraqis belonging to two different branches of Islam. In process of change of a situation in Sunni circles fears of grew that Shiites and Kurds, having intercepted a political initiative, will try to proclaim own sovereign states in territories of Iraq where they prevail.

  4. In this case the country will lose almost all main oil fields. Both Sunni, and Shiite armed groups opposed presence of foreign armies at Iraq, however in 2006 fight against armies of the international coalition faded into the background. On February 22 unknown organized explosion in a mosque Al-Askariya in Samara.

  5. Many observers started talking that in Iraq civil war began. On November 23 in Baghdad there was a series of acts of terrorism as a result of which about 200 people were lost. The Iraq war enjoyed the lesser popularity in America. The considerable resonance was received by information published in the spring on murder by the American marines of 24 peace Iraqis in the city of Hadita (November, 2005). Execution of the former president of the country Saddam Hussein became the last important event of 2006 in Iraq. The trial of Hussein began in October, 2005; its responsibility for massacre of Shiites in the village Al-Dudzheyl in 1982 was considered. In November, 2006 Hussein was sentenced to death and on December 30 is hung up.
